Tomato-Based Pasta Sauce
This tomato sauce recipe is perfect for when you want to cook a yummy wholesome dinner but don’t want it to be too time-consuming or complicated. I used Marcella Harzan’s recipe called ‘Tomato Sauce With Onion & Butter’ which is posted in the link below:
Ingredients:
2 cans of tinned diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
50g butter
Salt
Pepper
Utensils
Wooden spoon
Saucepan
Knife
Chopping board
Steps:
MEASURING THE BUTTER
Firstly you measure the butter using the measuring scale on the wrapper. Make a dent along the 50g line before unwrapping the butter and cutting downwards along the dent.PREPARING THE ONION
Then peel the onion and chop it in half using the knife and the chopping board.
3. ADD ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER
Add the butter, the onion and 2 tins of diced tomatoes into the saucepan over a low heat. Allow to simmer for 45 minutes occasionally stirring with a wooden spoon. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to season it.
4. ADD TO THE PASTA
Once you have cooked and drained the pasta, pour the sauce over the top and mix it through.
